How to select a general contractor without getting performed

Verify the license on Florida's DBPR site. Do it even if the website is beautiful. Do it to us. Then ask the questions that a portfolio cannot answer.

Who will be on my job

Not the founder in the brochure — the superintendent on Thursday. How many jobs they run at once. What happens when that person is sick. If the answer is vague, the job will be too.

How you will hear from them

A scheduled update is a system. 'Call me anytime' is a hope. Ask what the weekly message contains: progress, decisions needed, budget movement, inspections.

What they will not do

A serious builder has a no. Kitchen-only, lowest bid, a lot they cannot support, a calendar they cannot meet. If they say yes to everything, you are not their client. You are their volume.

This is general information from a builder, not licensed engineering, architectural, legal, or financial advice.

Private Project Review

Tell us about the work. We will tell you if we are a fit.

A structured first conversation — not a contact form that vanishes into a sales queue. If the project belongs with Remodel, we route you there. If it does not belong with us, you will hear that too.
